The Ministry of Manpower (MOM), the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC), and the Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) announced plans to form a new Tripartite Jobs Council (TJC) to help workers and businesses navigate the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on jobs and workforce transformation.

The council aims to support responsible AI adoption while ensuring workers are equipped with the skills needed for an evolving economy.
The TJC will focus on three key areas: supporting workforce transformation alongside AI adoption, strengthening worker training and transition support, and increasing public awareness and AI readiness.
The initiative reflects growing recognition that while AI can improve productivity and create new opportunities, it may also widen skills gaps and reshape existing job roles.
To support workers, the government will introduce additional AI-related initiatives, including AI-readiness assessment tools, curated AI training programmes, and temporary access to premium AI tools for selected SkillsFuture course participants.
NTUC also announced expanded support for workers through AI learning pathways and access to selected AI productivity tools under the Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP).
For employers, the government and tripartite partners will continue supporting workforce transformation through programmes such as the SkillsFuture Workforce Development Grant (Job Redesign+), which provides funding support for job redesign and AI adoption initiatives.
